Abstract
A cryosurgery apparatus is disclosed. The cryosurgery apparatus an introducer having a hollow and a distal portion, the distal portion being sufficiently sharp so as to penetrate into a body, the hollow of the introducer being designed and constructed for containing a plurality of cryoprobes each of the cryoprobes being for effecting cryoablation, such that each of the plurality of cryoprobes is deployable through the distal portion of the introducer when the distal portion is positioned with respect to a tissue to be cryoablated.
Claims25
A cryoprobe delivery apparatus comprising a distal portion insertable into a body of a patient, said distal portion comprises a lumen sized to accommodate a cryoprobe inserted therein, said lumen comprises a distal opening so sized as to enable a cryoprobe inserted in said lumen to be deployed through said distal opening into tissue of a patient.
A cryosurgery apparatus comprising
- (a) an introducer having a lumen sized to accommodate at least one cryoprobe, said lumen having a distal opening through which a cryoprobe inserted in said lumen can deploy into tissues of a body while said introducer is inserted in a body;
- and
- (b) a plurality of cryoprobes operable to be introduced into said at least one lumen and to deploy therefrom into tissues of a body while said introducer is inserted in said body.
A cryosurgery apparatus comprising a distal portion operable to contain a plurality of cryoprobes, each of said cryoprobes being operable to be deployed through an opening in said distal portion into tissues surrounding said distal portion when said distal portion is inserted in a body, and at least some of said cryoprobes being operable to cryoablate tissues external to said distal portion when so deployed.
A cryosurgery apparatus comprising a sheath forming a first hollow and having a distal portion, said first hollow being designed and constructed for containing a plurality of cryoprobes each of said cryoprobes being operable to be deployed through openings in said sheath into tissues surrounding said sheath, and at least some of said cryoprobes being operable to cryoablate tissues external to said sheath when so deployed.
