Abstract
The present invention provides a tampon applicator assembly having an applicator barrel with an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals. Additionally, the tampon applicator assembly can be provided with a tapered insertion tip. A shaped pledget can be housed in the applicator barrel, which provides support to the petals.
Claims30
A tampon assembly comprising:
- a barrel having an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals, said insertion tip having a first taper ratio;
- and
- a shaped pledget having a shaped insertion tip with a second taper ratio.
A tampon assembly comprising:
- a barrel having an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals, said insertion tip having an inner surface area;
- and
- a shaped pledget having a shaped tip, said pledget being disposed in said barrel so that said shaped tip supports a portion of said inner surface area.
A tampon assembly comprising:
- a barrel having an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals;
- and
- a pledget housed in said barrel, wherein said pledget is ejectable from said barrel with an ejection force of less than 50 ounces.
