Abstract
A computer assisted orthopaedic surgery system comprises an image sensor and a light source. The image sensor is configured to sense an image of an area associated with an orthopaedic surgical site and has a field of view. The light source projects light distinct from any ambient lighting onto the area in a pattern visually indicative of at least a portion of the field of view. An associated method is disclosed.
Claims23
A method of operating a computer assisted orthopaedic surgery system, the method comprising the step of projecting light distinct from any ambient lighting onto an area associated with an orthopaedic surgical site in a pattern visually indicative of at least a portion of a field of view of an image sensor configured to sense an image of the area.
A computer assisted orthopaedic surgery system, comprising:
- an image sensor configured to sense an image of an area associated with an orthopaedic surgical site, the image sensor having a field of view,
- a light source, and
- a controller electrically coupled to the image sensor and the light source, the controller comprising (i) a processor, and (ii) a memory device electrically coupled to the processor, the memory device having stored therein a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- operate the light source so as to project light distinct from any ambient lighting onto the area in a pattern visually indicative of at least a portion of the field of view.
A computer assisted orthopaedic surgery system, comprising:
- an image sensor configured to sense an image of an area associated with an orthopaedic surgical site, the image sensor having a field of view, and
- a light source secured to the image sensor to project light distinct from any ambient lighting onto the area in a pattern visually indicative of at least a portion of the field of view.
