Abstract
An electromagnetic receiver assembly is included in a navigation element for a therapy delivery system. If the system is modular, the navigation element may be an insertable module thereof and/or include a lumen to receive another insertable module.
Claims20
An electromagnetic receiver assembly for a navigation element of a therapy delivery system, the assembly comprising:
- a receiver coil including a first end, a second end and a coiled wire;
- and
- a conductor including a first insulated wire extending alongside a second insulated wire, the conductor coupled to the coiled wire and extending within the receiver coil.
A navigation element for a modular therapy delivery system, the element comprising:
- an elongate outer tube including a lumen extending longitudinally therethrough;
- an elongate inner tube extending within the outer tube lumen along at least a portion of a length of the outer tube, the inner tube including a lumen extending longitudinally therethrough;
- and
- at least one electromagnetic receiver assembly mounted in between the inner tube and the outer tube;
- the receiver assembly including a receiver coil and a conductor;
- the receiver coil including a first end, a second end and a coiled wire;
- and
- the conductor including a first insulated wire extending alongside a second insulated wire, the conductor coupled to the coiled wire and extending in between the receiver coil and the inner tube.
A method for assembling a modular therapy delivery system, the method comprising inserting a modular navigation element into a longitudinally extending lumen of a catheter such that one of a plurality of electromagnetic receiver assemblies coupled to the element is positioned in proximity to a distal end of the catheter, the navigation element including a lumen extending longitudinally through the plurality of receiver assemblies.
