Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus to measure water level in a water reservoir by measuring electrical conductivity between electrodes, including a reference electrode, at least one measuring electrode projecting into the water reservoir, and at least one electronic detection circuit to detect a presence of water based on the conductivity measurement.
Claims20
An apparatus to measure water level in a water reservoir by measuring electrical conductivity between electrodes comprising:
- a reference electrode;
- at least one measuring electrode projecting into the water reservoir;
- and
- at least one electronic detection circuit to calculate the water level based on the conductivity measurement.
An appliance having a water level sensor comprising:
- a water reservoir;
- a reference electrode;
- three measuring electrodes projecting into the water reservoir;
- and
- three electronic detection circuits,
- wherein electrical conductivity between electrodes is measured by the electronic detection circuits to calculate the water level in the water reservoir.
A method of detecting water level in a water reservoir having a reference electrode and at least one measuring electrode, the method comprising the steps of:
- applying an electric current through the measuring electrodes;
- measuring conductivity between electrodes;
- and
- determining a water level based on the conductivity measurement.
