Energizing seal for expandable connections

A connector for connecting tubulars, comprising:

• a pin portion;
• a box portion, wherein the pin and the box portions are configured to mate;
• a sealing surface formed in an outer surface of the pin portion;
• a seal disposed in a groove formed in an inner surface of the box portion, wherein the seal is configured to engage with a sealing surface of the pin portion upon mating of the pin and the box portions;
• and
• a bump formed on an inner surface of the pin portion, wherein the bump is substantially axially aligned with the sealing surface and the bump is configured so that a seal of the second tubular remains engaged with the tubular during and after expansion of the tubulars.

A tubular for use in a wellbore, comprising:

• a tubular body having a wall and a main axial bore through the body, the body having a pin located at an axial end of the body, the pin end configured to mate with a box of a coupling or a second tubular;
• a thread formed on an outer surface of the pin portion;
• a seal disposed in a groove formed in an outer surface of the pin, wherein the seal is configured to engage with a sealing surface of the coupling or the second tubular upon assembly;
• and
• a bump formed on an inner surface of the pin, wherein the bump is substantially axially aligned with the groove.
