Abstract
This invention relates to a secondary lid with gripping device used in conjunction with, but not exclusively with, tub like nesting containers that hold margarine. The secondary lid, preferably circular, fits within the container and below the locking or snap on lid of the container. When the secondary lid with gripping device is in place, the original container lid can be secured to the container without obstruction.

A secondary lid with gripping device that fits inside and below the upper rims of containers, and contacts the inner walls and inner shoulders of said containers forming a closure of said containers, and does not interfere with the placement of said containers original lids.
