Abstract
In a control and management system for automobiles, a central processor in the system connects traditionally unrelated vehicle subsystems together to realize synergistic functions such as smart driving, automatic parking, etc. A master interface having a display is employed in the system to help a user control and manage the vehicle functions.

A method for use in a system in a vehicle, the system including a display element, the method comprising:
- determining a location of the vehicle;
- providing, on the display element, a map based on the location of the vehicle;
- allowing a user to determine a geographic area on the map;
- obtaining information about one or more travel conditions in the geographic area;
- and
- based on the information, providing one or more indicators in relation to a representation of the geographic area on the display element, which indicate the one or more travel conditions.

- a device for determining a location of the vehicle;
- a display element for providing thereon a map based on the location of the vehicle;
- an interface for allowing a user to determine a geographic area on the map;

- a processor configured to obtain information about one or more travel conditions in the geographic area, wherein based on the information, one or more indicators are provided in relation to a representation of the geographic area on the display element, which indicate the one or more travel conditions.
