Abstract
Systems and methods for verifying the authenticity of a graphics chip or other hardware chips or hardware devices by performing a hardware functionality scan.
Claims20
A computer-readable medium having executable instructions that, when read, cause one or more processors to:
- request a hardware device to perform a set of operations designed to authenticate the device, without using circuitry intended for authentication;
- verify whether results of the set of operations are consistent with the behavior of an authentic device;
- and
- in response to verifying that the results are consistent, set a security access.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- request a hardware device to perform an operation designed to authenticate the device, without using circuitry intended for authentication;
- verify whether result of the operation is consistent with the behavior of an authentic device, wherein verifying is performed by choosing at least one value, passing the value as a parameter to the operation, and also passing the value as a parameter to a software emulation of the operation;
- and
- in response to verifying that the results are consistent, set a security access.
1 more element
A system, comprising:
- a displayer, to display a protected video stream;
- a driver, to provide access to the displayer, the driver further comprising:
- an authenticator, to authenticate the displayer;
- and
- a trusted environment, to execute the driver.
