Abstract
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for controlling data flow. A control message is formed for the data flow in response to an event while the data flow is occurring. The control message includes a data type, an action, and a duration. The control message is sent to a receiver data processing system, wherein the receiver data processing system modifies the data flow to the data processing system using the control message.
Claims20
A method in a data processing system for controlling data flow, the method comprising:
- responsive to an event while the data flow is occurring, forming a control message for the data flow, wherein the control message includes a data type, an action, and a duration;
- and
- sending the control message to a receiver data processing system, wherein the receiver data processing system modifies the data flow to the data processing system using the control message.
A data processing system comprising:
- a bus;
- a communications unit connected to the bus;
- a memory connected to the bus, wherein the memory includes a set of instructions;
- and
- a processor unit connected to the bus, wherein the processor unit executes the set of instructions to form a control message for the data flow in response to an event while data flow is occurring, wherein the control message includes a data type, an action, and a duration;
- and send the control message to a receiver data processing system, wherein the receiver data processing system modifies the data flow to the data processing system using the control message.
A computer program product in a data processing system for controlling data flow, the computer program product comprising:
- first instructions, responsive to an event while the data flow is occurring, forming a control message for the data flow, wherein the control message includes a data type, an action, and a duration;
- and
- second instructions, sending the control message to a receiver data processing system, wherein the receiver data processing system modifies the data flow to the data processing system using the control message.
