Abstract
A prescribed system architecture is recommended to an entity that desires to implement a system supporting distributed applications. A performance scenario is created based on anticipated usage, devices employed by servers running the distributed applications, and topology of locations using the servers. An optimized scenario may be provided by determining device optimization, different use load, and if possible consolidation of distributed applications on servers.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- generating a user profile describing anticipated use of a distributed application system by an entity;
- determining hardware that supports services provided by the system;
- recommending an architecture of servers that supports the system;
- and
- creating a performance scenario based on the user profile, the hardware, and the architecture.
2 more elements
A method comprising:
- receiving a scenario that describes device utilization of a distributed application system;
- factoring device options that may be used in servers employed in the system and optimization goals directed to device utilization;
- scaling devices used in the servers based on a user load applicable to the devices;
- and
- mapping a new number of servers based on the scaled devices.
2 more elements
A computer comprising:
- a processing unit;
- a user profile generator that is accessible by and operated on the processing unit, wherein the user profile generator receives usage data and heuristics data applicable to a system supporting distributed applications;
- a hardware instantiator that is accessible by and operated on the processing unit, wherein the hardware instantiator considers device options that are included in servers of the system and the distributed applications;
- and
- an architecture instantiator that is accessible by and operated on the processing unit, wherein the architecture instantiator determines where the servers and distributed applications are placed in the system, wherein a performance scenario is created based on the usage data, heuristics data, device options, and distributed options.
