Abstract
A density observer for estimating an actual density of a material comprises a proportional integral controller responsive to a density error determined by subtracting a feedback estimated density from a sensed density. A method of estimating a density of a material comprises determining a sensed density of the material, determining an estimated density of the material, determining a density error by subtracting the estimated density of the material from the sensed density of the material, and iteratively redetermining the estimated density based on the density error.

A density observer for estimating an actual density of a material comprising:
- a proportional integral controller responsive to a density error determined by subtracting a feedback estimated density from a sensed density.
A method of estimating a density of a material, comprising:
- determining a sensed density of the material;
- determining an estimated density of the material;
- determining a density error by subtracting the estimated density of the material from the sensed density of the material;
- and
- iteratively redetermining the estimated density based on the density error.
A system for estimating an actual density of a material in a mixing tank, the system comprising:
- a sensor operable to provide an indicated density of the material;
- and
- a dynamic controller operable to:
- compare the indicated density with a feedback estimated actual density to determine a density error, and
- process the density error to determine an estimated actual density of the material.
A method of estimating an actual density of a material in a tank, comprising:
- measuring the density of the material to determine a measured density;
- estimating the density of the material to determine an estimated density;
- subtracting the estimated density from the measured density to determine an error quantity;
- multiplying the error quantity by a proportional gain to determine a proportional quantity;
- multiplying the error quantity by an integral gain and integrating with respect to time to determine an integral quantity;
- and
- summing the proportional quantity and the integral quantity.
