Abstract
A simple, versatile and easily applicable deformable wound protector apparatus for preventing foreign objects such as clothing and dressing from contacting the wound comprising a desirable length, a start and an end, and a lower and upper surface. The present invention may further include bridges and connectors to enhance its application. The deformable wound protector can conform to the specific contour and size of any wound and may be used with any dressing.
Claims17
A method for protecting a wound, the method comprising:
- providing at least one deformable member having a start, an end, a lower surface, an upper surface and a desirable-length, and
- adapting the deformable member to at least partially surround the wound.
Apparatus for protecting a wound comprising:
- at least one deformable member having a start, an end, a lower surface, an upper surface and a desirable length, and
- the deformable member being adapted to at least partially surround the wound.
A method for protecting a wound, the method comprising:
- providing at least one deformable member having a start, an end, a lower surface, an upper surface and a desirable length,
- placing the deformable member in proximity of the wound so that it substantially circumscribes the wound to create an aperture with an area greater than the area of the wound, and
- coupling the start and the end of at least one deformable member with a connector to fully circumscribe the wound and hold the deformable member in place.
