Abstract
Method for preparing methyl 2-diphenylmethylsulfinylacetate (MDMSA) comprising the steps of: (i) conversion of benzhydrol into methyldiphenylmethylthio-acetate; and (ii) conversion of methyldiphenylmethylthioacetate into methyl-2-diphenylmethylsulfinylacetate by oxidation.

Method for preparing methyl 2-diphenylmethylsulfinylacetate (MDMSA) comprising the steps of:
- (i) conversion of benzhydrol into methyldiphenylmethylthio-acetate;
- and
- (ii) conversion of methyldiphenylmethylthioacetate into methyl-2-diphenylmethylsulfinylacetate.
