Abstract
A fuel cell electrolyte according to one aspect of the invention contains a basic polymer and a phosphate compound expressed by the following general formula (1): where R represents an alkyl or alkoxyalkyl group, and n is 1 or 2.

A fuel cell electrolyte comprising a basic polymer and a hydrolyzable phosphate compound expressed by the following general formula (1):
- where R represents an alkyl or alkoxyalkyl group, and n is 1 or 2.
A membrane electrode assembly comprising:
- the fuel cell electrolyte according to any one of claims 1 to 11;
- an anode joined to one side of the fuel cell electrolyte;
- and
- a cathode joined to another side of the fuel cell electrolyte, wherein
- at least one of the anode and the cathode contains a hydrolyzable phosphate compound expressed by the general formula (1).

A method of manufacturing a fuel cell electrolyte comprising:
- casting a basic polymer;
- and
- impregnating the basic polymer with an aqueous solution in which a phosphate compound expressed by the general formula (1) is dissolved.
