Abstract
A method and apparatus for determining a homography between an image and an expected image is described. The homography accounts for differences in perspective of a camera viewing an objective plane of the image, in some examples, a paper with information on it.
Claims22
A process for processing an image containing codes comprising the steps of:
- extracting features from the image;
- and
- creating a homography matrix from said extracted features, wherein said homography matrix is based on parallel lines in said image, and said homography matrix attempts to minimize a distance between said features and said parallel lines.
A system for processing an image comprising:
- an input receiving an image from a camera;
- a processor that processes said image, said processor extracting features from said image and segmenting said features;
- an output receiving an output from said processor, said output including a homography matrix, wherein said homography matrix is based on parallel lines in said image from said camera, and said homography matrix attempts to minimize a distance between said parallel lines and said extracted features.
A process for determining a homography for a camera comprising the steps of:
- obtaining an image having parallel lines;
- determining a homography matrix for said camera, said homography matrix based on said parallel lines in said obtained image, where said homography matrix attempts to minimize a difference between said parallel lines in said obtained image and expected parallel lines;
- applying said homography matrix to said obtained image to adjust said obtained image.
