Abstract
The object of the invention is coated base paper. According to the invention, it comprises cellulose fibres based pigment-coated paper having 1 to 5 barrier layers. The barrier layer comprises a barrier chemical selected from the group comprising polyvinyl alcohol, acrylate-based barrier latexes and their mixtures. The object of the invention is also a method for the manufacture of coated base paper. In the method, onto a pigment-coated paper based on cellulose fibres 1-5 barrier layers are applicated by using a method not contacting the web.

Coated base paper, characterized in that it comprises cellulose fibres based pigment-coated paper, coated using pigment paste comprising kaolin or carbonate, and having I to 5 barrier layers, which barrier layer comprises a barrier chemical selected from the group comprising polyvinyl alcohol, acrylate-based barrier latexes and their mixtures.
A method for the manufacture of coated base paper, characterized in that onto a pigment-coated paper based on cellulose fibres and coated using pigment paste comprising kaolin or carbonate, 1-5 barrier layers are applied by using a method not contacting the web, which barrier layer comprises a barrier chemical as an aqueous solution, selected from the group comprising polyvinyl alcohol, acrylate-based barrier latexes or their mixtures.
