Abstract
The present invention is in the field of polymer interlayers used in multiple layer glass panels, and specifically the present invention is in the field of polymer interlayers having relatively low moisture content.
Claims20
A method of manufacturing a multiple layer glass panel, comprising:
- forming a stack, wherein said stack comprises a layer of glass and a polymer sheet comprising poly(vinyl butyral), wherein said polymer sheet comprises less than 0.35 percent moisture by weight when allowed to equilibrate at 25% relative humidity, and has been formed from a poly(vinyl butyral) resin having 10.0 to 18.0 weight percent residual hydroxyl content;
- and,
- laminating said stack using a non autoclave process.
A method of manufacturing a multiple layer glass panel, comprising:
- forming a stack, wherein said stack comprises a first layer of glass, a second layer of glass, and one or more polymer layers disposed between said first layer of glass and said second layer of glass, wherein said one or more polymer layers comprises a polymer sheet comprising poly(vinyl butyral), wherein said polymer sheet comprises less than 0.35 percent moisture by weight when allowed to equilibrate at 25% relative humidity, and is formed from poly(vinyl butyral) resin comprising 10.0 to 18.0 weight percent residual hydroxyl content;
- and,
- laminating said stack using a non autoclave nip roll process.
