Enhanced electronic service guide container

A method of constructing an ESG at a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

• (a) reading a list of fragments declared for an ESG delivery session in an ESG delivery descriptor;
• (b) comparing the list of fragments to an existing bookkeeping in the mobile terminal;
• (c) determining whether the ESG delivery session containing at least one missing fragment;
• and
• (d) reading the ESG delivery session if the ESG delivery session contains at least one missing fragment.

A system for distributing ESG data, the system comprising:

• a network server, the network server comprising:
• a processor;
• and
• a computer-readable medium programmed with computer-readable instructions for performing:
• (a) partitioning of ESG data to at least one fragment,
• (b) associating the at least one fragment with a ESG delivery session, and
• (c) transmitting the at least one fragment in the ESG delivery session on at least one carrier;
• and
• a receiver programmed with computer-executable instructions to assemble the at least one fragment in the ESG delivery session.

A mobile device for receiving ESG data, comprising:

• a housing;
• a processor mounted within the housing;
• a display connected to the processor;
• a receiver connected to the processor
• an antenna connected to the receiver;
• a user interface connected to the processor;
• a power source connected to the processor;
• and
• a memory connected to the processor, wherein the memory includes computer-executable instructions configured to enable the mobile device to receive, decode and process a container containing a fragment and wherein the memory further includes computer-executable instructions configured to enable the mobile device to compare the fragment to a bookkeeping of the ESG assembled by at least one prior ESG delivery session to determine whether the container contains at least one missing fragment.
