Abstract
A computer-readable medium and a computer implemented method to enable a computer to provide a relational chart of accounts with an underlying data support scheme that allows for an undetermined number of dimensions to be used with an account. Dimensions can be added or removed without having to perform a re-implementation of the relational chart of accounts.
Claims20
A computer-readable medium having instructions embedded thereon that, when executed, enable a computer to provide a relational chart of accounts with an underlying data support scheme that allows for an undetermined number of dimensions to be used with an account.
A computer-implemented method for processing financial data, the method comprising:
- eliminating a first dimension from a set of active dimensions;
- and
- processing, based at least in part on the first dimension, data associated with transactions that preceded said eliminating.
A data definition configured to support a relational chart of accounts, wherein the data definition allows for an undetermined number of dimensions to be associated with an account, and wherein the data definition enables different account/dimension combinations to be persisted based on a factor other than a number of dimensions defined.
