Abstract
Medical devices, such as endoprostheses, and methods of making the devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, a medical device includes a composite having a metallic matrix and a plurality of particles in the matrix, the particles and the matrix having different compositions.

A medical device, comprising a composite comprising a metallic matrix and a plurality of particles in the matrix, the particles and the matrix having different chemical compositions.
A method of making a medical device, the method comprising:
- forming a composite comprising a metallic matrix and a plurality of particles in the matrix;
- and
- using the composite to form at least a portion of the medical device.
