A method of reducing loss of function of at least one reproductive cell in vitro, comprising the steps of:
- a. generating an amount of at least one extract of Hippophae;
- b. administering an amount of at least one extract of Hippophae to said at least one reproductive cell in vitro;
- and
- c. reducing loss of function of said at least one reproductive cell in vitro.
