Pharmaceutical compositions including stannsoporfin, drug products incorporating pharmaceutical compositions, methods of making pharmaceutical compositions, and methods of treating hyperbilirubinemia with drug products and compositions are disclosed.

A method for increasing the bioavailablity of stannsoporfin following intramuscular administration in a human patient comprising intramuscularly administering to said patient a pharmaceutical composition comprising stannsoporfin in an aqueous solution having a physiological osmolarity.
