Abstract
A cosmetic foundation composition is provided having an SPF value of greater than or equal to 15, preferably greater than or equal to 18, more preferably greater than or equal to 20 and a ΔLT value greater than or equal to 0.5, preferably greater than or equal to 1.0, more preferably greater than or equal to 2.5, where ΔLT is measured according to the following equation: ΔLT=ΔL2−ΔL1 Where: ΔL1=L1110−L115; ΔL2=L2110−L215 L1 is a measurement of Ly taken on bare skin, to which no product has been applied; L2 is a measurement of Ly taken on skin, to which product has been applied; and Ly is the translucency value at a specific angle, y, from specular.
Claims20
A cosmetic foundation composition having an SPF-value of greater than or equal to about 15, and a ΔLT value greater than or equal to about 0.5, wherein said ΔLT value is measured according to the following equation:
- ΔLT=ΔL2−ΔL1
- wherein:
- ΔL1=L1110−L115;
- ΔL2=L2110−L215
- wherein L1 is a measurement of Ly taken on bare skin, to which no product has been applied;
- wherein L2 is a measurement of Ly taken on skin, to which product has been applied;
- and
- wherein Ly is the translucency value at a specific angle, y, from specular.
A cosmetic foundation composition having an SPF-value of greater than or equal to about 15 and a ΔLT value greater than or equal to about 0.5 wherein said cosmetic foundation composition comprises:
- (A) from about 0.01% to about 15% by weight of said cosmetic foundation composition of cross-linked organopolysiloxane elastomer;
- (B) a dispersant;
- (C) a sunscreen comprising one or more of C1, C2 and C3:
- wherein C1 is a first metal oxide sunscreen particles having a first number weighted average primary particle size of from about 1 nm to about 50 nm and second metal oxide sunscreen particles having a second number weighted average primary particle size which is greater than about 50 nm and less than or equal to about 200 nm;
- wherein C2 is a water soluble and/or a water dispersible organic sunscreen;
- and
- wherein C3 is a lipophilic organic sunscreen;
- wherein said ΔLT value is measured according to the following equation:
- ΔLT=ΔL2−ΔL1
- wherein
- ΔL1=L1110−L115;
- ΔL2=L2110−L215
- wherein L1 is a measurement of Ly taken on bare skin, to which no product has been applied;
- wherein L2 is a measurement of Ly taken on skin, to which product has been applied;
- and
- wherein Ly is the translucency value at a specific angle, y, from specular.
