Abstract
A method and apparatus initiate the supply of power to a component to ready the component to perform a function in response to further operator input.

An electronic device comprising:
- a component;
- a time measurement device;
- and
- a controller configured to generate a signal based upon input from the time measurement device to initiate supply of power to the component to ready the component to perform a function in response to further operator input.

An electronic device power control system for use with an electronic device having one or more components configured to perform at least one function, the system comprising:
- a time measurement device;
- a memory;
- and
- a controller configured to generate control signals based upon input from the time measurement device and a stored time value to initiate supply of power to the one or more electronic components to ready the components to perform the at least one function in response to further operator input.
