Abstract
Methods and Systems for communication using carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) with multipacket reception (MPR).

A method for transmitting information, the method comprising the steps of:
- determining channel state information;
- deciding a manner in which to transmit over a channel based on the channel state information;
- the manner in which information is transmitted over the channel enabling multiple simultaneous transmissions to be present in the channel;
- transmitting information over the channel;
- and
- determining whether information was successfully transmitted.

A method of receiving information over a communication channel, the method comprising the steps of:
- monitoring the communication channel for transmissions;
- determining whether at least one transmission from a plurality of transmissions is present in the communication channel;
- initiating receipt of transmissions present in the communication channel, if at least one transmission is present;
- determining whether any received transmissions from the plurality of transmissions has been completed;
- and
- notifying transmitting terminals corresponding to completed transmissions of outcome determinations of completed transmissions.

- a monitoring subsystem capable of sensing a communication channel and of obtaining channel state information;
- a transmitter/receiver subsystem capable of transmitting information over the communication channel and of receiving information transmitted over the communication channel;
