A method of managing resources in a point-to-multipoint or multipoint-to-multipoint communications network in which radio links (Li) sharing resources have been set up between remote traffic stations (STi) and a management center (CG), characterized in that it comprises i) determining for each traffic station (STi) first information data representing rates of occupancy per traffic type of the resources previously assigned to its radio link (Li), ii) determining at least as a function of said rates of occupancy per traffic type a primary distribution of said resources between the radio links (Li), including assignment margins, and iii) determining for each traffic station (STi) a secondary distribution between traffic types of the resources assigned to its radio link (Li) as a result of the primary distribution, taking account of its rates of occupancy per traffic type.
