Abstract
According to this invention, an information processing apparatus which customizes a device driver for controlling an image forming apparatus includes an issuing unit which issues identification information for specifying a customized driver, and a storage unit which stores, in association with the customized driver, the identification information issued by the issuing unit.

An information processing apparatus which customizes a device driver for controlling an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- issuing means for issuing identification information for specifying a customized driver;
- and
- storage means for storing, in association with the customized driver, the identification information issued by said issuing means.
An information processing apparatus comprising:
- driver acquisition means for acquiring a customized driver;
- installation instruction means for designating installation of the customized driver;
- information acquisition means for acquiring identification information for specifying a customized driver whose installation is designated by said installation instruction means;
- and
- display means for displaying a result of installation by said installation instruction means using the identification information.
A program which is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium and customizes a device driver for controlling an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a code for an issuing processing procedure of issuing identification information for specifying a customized driver;
- and
- a code for a storage processing procedure of storing, in association with the customized driver, the identification information issued by the code for the issuing processing procedure in storage means.
A program which is recorded on a computer-readable recording medium and customizes a device driver for controlling an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a code for a driver acquisition processing procedure of acquiring a customized driver;
- a code for an installation instruction processing procedure of designating installation of the customized driver;
- a code for an information acquisition processing procedure of acquiring identification information for specifying a customized driver whose installation is designated in the installation instruction processing procedure;
- and
- a code for a display processing procedure of displaying a result of installation in the installation instruction processing procedure using the identification information.
A customization method of customizing a device driver for controlling an image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an issuing processing step of issuing identification information for specifying a customized driver;
- and
- a storage step of storing, in association with the customized driver, the identification information issued in the issuing processing step in storage means.
A customization program capable of customizing action setting information of a device driver, causing a computer to execute
- a loading step of loading a driver set which is saved in a memory and used to install a device driver,
- a setting editing step of editing action setting information initially held when the device driver of the driver set loaded in the loading step is installed, and
- a save step of saving the action setting information edited in the setting editing step as setting definition information in the driver set of the device driver.
An information processing apparatus capable of customizing action setting information of a device driver, comprising:
- loading means for loading a driver set which is saved in a memory and used to install a device driver;
- setting editing means for editing action setting information initially held when the device driver of the driver set loaded by -said loading means is installed;
- and
- save means for saving the action setting information edited by said setting editing means as setting definition information in the driver set of the device driver.
An information processing method capable of customizing action setting information of a device driver, comprising:
- a loading step of loading a driver set which is saved in a memory and used to install a device driver;
- a setting editing step of editing action setting information initially held when the device driver of the driver set loaded in the loading step is installed;
- and
- a save step of saving the action setting information edited in the setting editing step as setting definition information in the driver set of the device driver.
An information processing system capable of customizing action setting information of a device driver, comprising:
- loading means for loading a driver set which is saved in a memory and used to install a device driver;
- setting editing means for editing action setting information initially held when the device driver of the driver set loaded by said loading means is installed;
- and
- save means for saving, as setting definition information in the driver set of the device driver, the action setting information edited by said setting editing means.
An information processing method comprising:
- a step of displaying a setting window capable of customizing a default value of setting information of a device driver;
- a step of writing, as a customized item in related data of a user interface of the device driver, a setting item of a print option that is set using the setting window;
- and
- a reflection step capable of reflecting the customized setting item of the print option in the user interface of the device driver by referring to the related data of the user interface when the device driver is activated.
An information processing method in an information processing apparatus which executes processing on the basis of a display attribute value set using a user interface, comprising:
- a display control step of displaying a user interface for setting an initial value and configuration information of a print option of a device driver;
- a storage step of storing, in association with the device driver, the initial value and configuration information which are set using the user interface;
- and
- a display step of editing and displaying a user interface window of the device driver on the basis of the initial value and configuration information which are stored in the storage step.
An information processing apparatus comprising:
- means for displaying a setting window capable of customizing a default value-of setting information of a device driver;
- means for writing, as a customized item in related data of a user interface of the device driver, a setting item of a print option that is set using the setting window;
- and
- reflection means capable of reflecting the customized setting item of the print option in the user interface of the device driver by referring to the related data of the user interface when the device driver is activated.
An information processing apparatus which executes processing on the basis of a display attribute value set using a user interface, comprising:
- display control means for displaying a user interface for setting an initial value and configuration information of a print option of a device driver;
- storage means for storing, in association with the device driver, the initial value and configuration information which are set using the user interface;
- and
- display means for editing and displaying a user interface window of the device driver on the basis of the initial value and configuration information which are stored in said storage means.
