Abstract
An image forming apparatus is provided with a modulator producing a modulated signal of a pulse width decided on given image data and a driver driving an optical generator such as laser to generate a light beam. The image forming apparatus is further provided with a scanner periodically scanning the light beam generated by the optical generator and a power detector detecting information indicative of a power of the light beam scanned by the scanner. A pulse width adjustor uses the information detected by the power detector, in order to adjust the pulse width of the light beam.
Claims18
A light beam scanning apparatus, comprising:
- a modulator producing a modulated signal of a pulse width decided based on given image data;
- a light generator capable of generating a light beam in response to the modulated signal;
- a scanner periodically and spatially scanning the light beam generated by the light generator, along a second direction orthogonal to a predetermined first direction at a predetermine position in the first direction;
- a power detector detecting information indicative of a power of the light beam scanned by the scanner;
- and
- a pulse width adjuster adjusting a pulse width of the light beam to be generated based on the information detected by the power detector.
A light beam scanning apparatus comprising:
- modulation means for producing a modulated signal of a pulse width decided based on given image data;
- light generating means capable of generating a light beam in response to the modulated signal;
- scanning means for periodically and spatially scanning the light beam generated by the light generating means, along a second direction orthogonal to a predetermined first direction at a predetermine position in the first direction;
- power detecting means for detecting information indicative of a power of the light beam scanned by the scanning means;
- and
- pulse width adjusting means for adjusting a pulse width of the light beam to be generated based on the information detected by the power detecting means.
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a modulator producing a modulated signal of a pulse width decided based on given image data;
- a light generator capable of generating a light beam in response to the modulated signal;
- a scanner periodically and spatially scanning the light beam generated by the light generator, along a second direction orthogonal to a predetermined first direction at a predetermine position in the first direction;
- a power detector detecting information indicative of a power of the light beam scanned by the scanner;
- and
- a pulse width adjuster adjusting a pulse width of the light beam to be generated based on the information detected by the power detector.
