The invention concerns a method and a device for the adjustment of wheel camber in commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant used for earthworks, particularly on uneven ground. The camber angle is set inventively and automatically, by means of a camber cylinder and a wheel pivot unit, as a function of at least one of the driving parameters. For this purpose, the driving parameters, e.g. the axle swing angle, the steering lock angle, the lateral force on the vehicle wheels on the front axle and the absolute inclination of the construction plant are detected by sensors, the output signals of which are fed to an electronic control unit as input parameters. The camber angle sets itself as a function of the setting signal from the electronic control unit by means of a camber cylinder and a wheel pivot unit, in accordance with specified control strategies. As well as the self-setting wheel camber adjustment system, the camber cylinder is embodied so that it can still be operated manually.
Device for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant with a composite axle, consisting of at least a camber rod, an axle bracket, a camber cylinder and a wheel pivot unit, whereby the camber cylinder is directly articulated to the wheel pivot unit, characterised in that an electronic control unit (9) with at least one sensor (6) and an actuator (8) linked to the control unit with a mechanical connection to the camber cylinder (4) is provided, whereby the camber cylinder is designed to extend and retract so that an identical camber angle for both wheels on one axle can be set automatically and simultaneously as a function of at least one driving parameter.
Method for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant with a composite axle using a camber rod, an axle bracket, a camber cylinder and a wheel pivot unit, characterised in that an identical camber angle for both wheels on one axle is controlled independently of the position of the front swing axle and/or as a function of the steering lock angle and/or as a function of the lateral forces from the plough and/or as a function of the absolute angle of inclination.
Method for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant characterised in that an identical camber angle for both wheels on an axle is kept constant independently of the angle of the front swing axle.
Method for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant characterised in that an identical camber angle for both wheels on an axle is controlled as a function of the steering lock angle so that it can be adjusted “in a sliding fashion”.
Method for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant characterised in that an identical camber angle for both wheels on one axle is controlled as a function of the lateral forces from the plough, whereby a mean lateral force is first determined from the lateral forces acting and the wheel camber angle is then controlled by “sliding” adjustment.
Method for the adjustment of wheel camber on commercial vehicles, particularly wheeled construction plant characterised in that desired redundancy is achieved by the simultaneous connection of multiple standardised signals from the sensors (6) to the electronic control unit (9).
