Abstract
Image sensor module architecture provides flexible mounting of illuminators in an imaging apparatus with flexible fasteners. The architecture involves one or more LED-based illuminators that may be mounted adjustably to provide high intensity and uniform profile luminescence. The supporting imaging and electronic circuit components are quickly assembled and disassembled from the image sensor module by using a flexible multi-function clip having multiple segments for holding multiple objects together.
Claims20
An illuminator assembly comprising at least one pair of illuminators, a body having a top portion and a bottom portion, at least two surfaces angled to one another, and attachments attaching said illuminators to said body, wherein the illuminators are positioned with respect to one another to form an included angle of about 30 degrees to about 90 degrees, wherein said attachments are configured to permit said illuminators to slidably move towards to top and/or bottom portion of said body.
An apparatus comprising
- at least one pair of illuminators;
- an image sensor assembly having a body with at least two surfaces angled with respect to one another;
- an attachment device(s) configured to attach said illuminators to said angled surfaces of said body to form angled illuminators;
- an optical system having an optical path arranged between said illuminators to receive cooperatively light rays reflected from an object illuminated by said one or more angled illuminators and to convert light rays into electrical signals representative of an image of said object;
- and
- a board capable of converting said electrical signals into an electronic image.
A clip comprising
- a flexible body having a top surface, a bottom surface and a back surface;
- said top surface having a top front end and a top back end and said bottom surface having a bottom front end and a bottom back end;
- a top lever partially cleaved from said top surface, said top lever having a bent portion forming said top back end and extending beyond said back surface;
- a bottom lever partially cleaved from said bottom surface, said bottom lever having a bent portion forming said bottom back end and extending beyond said back surface;
- said back surface formed to comprise a one or more legs connecting the top surface to the bottom surface;
- and
- wherein said device is configured to form a multi-function clip to snap on to multiple objects with multiple protrusions formed on said top surface, said bottom surface and said back surface.
