Abstract
In an air conditioner constructed to pass an air introduced into an air conditioning unit through an evaporator and a heater core, both arranged in the unit, cooler pipes for the evaporator and heater pipes for the heater core are arranged to extend from the same side wall of the air conditioning unit.
Claims11
A vehicle air conditioner comprising:
- an air conditioning unit disposed substantially in the middle of the inside of an instrument panel in a widthwise direction of a vehicle body, said air conditioning unit including a casing;
- an air blowing unit disposed to a front-passenger's side of the air conditioning unit;
- a cooling heat exchanger and a heating heat exchanger disposed in the air conditioning unit, the cooling heat exchanger being inclined downward in the rear to front direction of the vehicle body,
- an intermediate duct for ducting an air from the air blowing unit to the air conditioning unit, a space into which an air from said intermediate duct is introduced is provided under the cooling heat exchanger in the casing;
- a drain part integrally formed with a bottom wall part of the casing;
- and
- a rib formed in the bottom wall part of the casing, the rib being approximately parallel with a blowing direction of the air introduced through the intermediate duct;
- wherein said air conditioner allows the air introduced from the intermediate duct into the air conditioning unit to pass through the cooling and heating heat exchangers disposed in the air conditioning unit to produce a conditioned air, and the cooler pipes connected to the cooling heat exchanger and heater pipes connected to the heating heat exchanger are arranged to extend from the same side of the air conditioning unit in the widthwise direction of the vehicle.
