Emulation Pause and Reset Tracing of Multiple Sync Points Pointing to Different Addresses

A data processor trace circuit comprising:

• a trace trigger circuit receiving data including program counter addresses from a data processor operable to generate trace data markers indicating initiation and termination of at least one trace function at a specified program counter address;
• a trace collection circuit connected to the data processor operable to collect trace data;
• a trace export circuit connected to said trace trigger circuit and said trace collection circuit operable to generate emulation pause related markers indicating initiation and termination of an emulation halt state at a specified program counter address, each emulation pause related marker including a conflict bit indicating in a first state the absence of a simultaneous trace data marker having a differing program counter address during said emulation halt state and in a second state opposite to the first state the presence of a simultaneous trace data marker having a differing program counter address during said emulation halt state;
• and
• a trace transmission circuit operable to transmit said trace data markers, said trace data and said emulation pause related markers to device pins.
