Abstract
A curable printing fluid composition for a thermal fluid ejection device is disclosed, wherein the printing fluid composition comprises a curable liquid-phase monomer, a volatile driver fluid capable of being vaporized by a thermal fluid ejection printhead, and a resistor protectant.
Claims51
A curable printing fluid composition for a thermal fluid ejection device, comprising:
- a curable liquid-phase monomer;
- a volatile driver fluid capable of being vaporized by a thermal fluid ejection printhead;
- and
- a resistor protectant.
1 more element
A UV curable printing fluid composition for a thermal fluid ejection device, comprising:
- at least one mono-functional acrylic monomer;
- at least one di-functional acrylic monomer;
- at least one substantially nonaqueous driver fluid present in an amount of 0.1-50 weight percent;
- at least one photoinitiator present in an amount of 0.1-50 weight percent;
- and
- at least one resistor protectant present in an amount of 0.1-10 weight percent.
3 more elements
A curable, thermally-ejectable printing fluid composition, comprising:
- at least one liquid-phase monomer;
- at least one substantially nonaqueous driver fluid vaporizable by a thermal fluid ejection printhead;
- and
- at least one resistor protectant, wherein the composition is curable by exposure to at least one of electromagnetic energy and particle energy, and wherein the composition has a viscosity of approximately 1-20 cps and a surface tension of approximately 20-50 dyne/cm.
1 more element
A method of printing a printing fluid onto a printing medium, comprising:
- vaporizing a volatile driver fluid compound in the printing fluid by flowing electrical current through a resistor, thereby forming a vapor bubble which ejects printing fluid onto the printing medium;
- and
- exposing the printing fluid on the printing medium to an energy source to thereby polymerize a monomer component in the printing fluid.
