Abstract
There are disclosed methods for manufacturing an airtight container and an image display apparatus. Especially, as a constitution of supplying a potential to an electrode in the airtight container, the container is constituted which includes a structure having a concave portion opened at a through-hole of a substrate and closed at the bottom, and a shape is formed in which by applying a pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the container, the structure is deformed to enable supplying of a potential to the electrode.

An airtight container comprising:
- a first substrate on which an electrode is disposed;
- a second substrate which is opposite the electrode disposed on a surface of the first substrate;
- and
- a member to supply a potential to the electrode and attached to the second substrate;
- wherein the member forms a concave shape, and
- the member is made by deforming one metal plate and has a bottom portion disposed adjacent the first substrate and another portion attached to the second substrate.
