Abstract
L-threonine or L-isoleucine is produced by culturing a bacterium which belongs to the genus Escherichia and has an ability to produce L-threonine or L-isoleucine, and wherein expression of a threonine operon is directed by its native promoter, and from which at least a leader sequence and an attenuator are deleted, in a medium and collecting the L-threonine or L-isoleucine from the medium.
Claims12
An Escherichia bacterium which is able to produce L-threonine or L-isoleucine, wherein expression of a threonine operon therein is directed by its native promoter, and wherein at least a leader sequence and an attenuator has been deleted from said threonine operon.
An isolated Escherichia threonine operon comprising a native promoter and thrABC, wherein at least a leader sequence and an attenuator sequence have been deleted from said operon.
