Abstract
A battery paste composition incorporates and promotes the formation of tetra basic lead sulfate using a micronized TTBLS additive, and eliminates free lead using a special oxide, during paste mixing and drying. Battery plates utilizing the disclosed battery paste composition are produced without the need for curing, and instead can be used in the battery immediately following plate drying.

A battery paste comprising:
- a battery paste mix;
- tetra basic lead sulfate;
- and
- an oxide.

- formulating a battery paste mix;
- adding tetra basic lead sulfate to the battery paste mix;
- and
- adding an oxide to the battery paste mix.

A method of producing battery plates, comprising the steps of:
- formulating a battery paste mix;
- adding tetra basic lead sulfate to the battery paste mix;
- adding an oxide to the battery paste mix;
- mixing the battery paste mix, the tetra basic lead sulfate and the oxide;
- pasting at least one battery plate;
- and
- drying the pasted battery plate without curing.
