Visual inspection apparatus and method of inspecting display panel using the visual inspection apparatus

A method of inspecting a display panel, the method comprising:

• mounting a display panel on a panel mounting unit of a work table;
• displaying image patterns, which are repeated regularly, on the display panel;
• photographing the display panel with a plurality of cameras arranged in a matrix;
• and
• checking photographed areas, which are overlapped by the cameras, from an image of the display panel photographed with the cameras, with the use of a processor.

A method of inspecting a display panel, the method comprising:

• mounting a display panel on a panel mounting unit of a work table;
• displaying one of a white image, a black image, a specific color image, and a middle gray-scale image on the display panel;
• photographing the display panel with a plurality of cameras arranged in a matrix while changing distances between the cameras;
• and
• checking for existence of a defect in the display panel from an image of the display panel photographed with the cameras, with the use of a processor.

A method of manufacturing a display panel, the method comprising:

• forming a plurality of display panels that are independent of each other by forming a plurality of display elements that are independent of each other on a mother panel, and cutting the mother panel;
• mounting one display panel of the plurality of display panels on a panel mounting unit of a work table;
• photographing the mounted display panel with a plurality of cameras arranged in a matrix while adjusting the distances between the cameras;
• detaching the photographed display panel from the panel mounting unit;
• mounting another display panel of the plurality of display panels on the panel mounting unit;
• checking for existence of a defect in the photographed display panel from an image of the display panel photographed with the cameras, with the use of a processor;
• and
• treating the photographed display panel, when a defect exists in the photographed display panel.
