Recording apparatus, server apparatus, recording method, program, and storage medium

A data recording method comprising:

• reading data from a first recording medium that stores data and first management data for managing the data by track;
• recording data onto a second recording medium;
• producing second management data for managing data recorded on the second recording medium based on the first management data of the first recording medium on which the data recorded on the second recording medium has been recorded;
• determining data unrecorded on the second recording medium by comparing the first management data read from the first recording medium with the second management data recorded on the second recording medium;
• and
• reading the determined data from the first recording medium and recording the read data onto the second recording medium.

A storage medium configured to store a program, said program performing:

• reading data from a first recording medium that stores data and first management data for managing the data by track;
• recording data onto a second recording medium;
• producing second management data for managing data recorded on the second recording medium based on the first management data of the first recording medium on which the data recorded on the second recording medium has been recorded;
• determining data unrecorded on the second recording medium by comparing the first management data read from the first recording medium with the second management data recorded on the second recording medium;
• and
• reading the determined data from the first recording medium and recording the read data onto the second recording medium.

A storage medium configured to store a program, comprising:

• compressing data, read by the data reading means, at a predetermined compression ratio;
• producing the second management data with data recorded on the second recording medium associated with data representing the compression ratio of the data recorded on the second recording medium;
• determining the data unrecorded on the second recording medium by comparing the first management data for managing the data recorded on the first recording medium with the second management data recorded on the second recording medium and the data representing the compression ratio, at which the compressing means compresses the data recorded on the first recording medium, and reading the determined data from the first recording medium;
• and
• causing the recording means to record the read data onto the second recording medium.
