Abstract
A liquid crystal device of the present invention includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer that is provided between the pair of substrates, a first seal material that is arranged along the periphery of the liquid crystal layer between the pair of substrates and seals the liquid crystal layer, and a second seal material that is arranged along the periphery of the liquid crystal layer between the pair of substrates and has water-hardening properties.
Claims17
A seal structure for a porous layer, comprising:
- a first seal material arranged on a surface of the porous layer;
- and
- a second seal material arranged on the surface of the porous layer and has water-hardening properties.
A liquid crystal device, comprising:
- a pair of substrates;
- a liquid crystal layer arranged between the pair of substrates;
- a first seal material arranged around the liquid crystal layer between the pair of substrates and seals the liquid crystal layer;
- and
- a second seal material arranged around the liquid crystal device between the pair of substrates and has water-hardening properties.
A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device in which a liquid crystal layer is sealed between a pair of substrates, comprising:
- joining the pair of substrates together with a first seal material therebetween;
- and
- arranging a second seal material that has water-hardening properties around the liquid crystal layer between the pair of substrates.
A seal method for a porous layer, comprising:
- arranging a seal material on a surface of the porous layer;
- and
- imparting affinity for the seal material to a region of the porous layer where the seal material is arranged.
A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device in which a liquid crystal layer is sealed between a first substrate and a second substrate, comprising:
- joining together the first substrate and the second substrate with a seal material therebetween;
- and
- imparting affinity for the seal material to regions of the first substrate and the second substrate where the seal material is arranged.
