Abstract
A liquid crystal device includes: a pair of substrates with liquid crystal interposed therebetween; a first electrode formed on one of the pair of substrates; an insulating layer formed on the first electrode; and a second electrode that is formed on the insulating layer corresponding to a pixel region so as to generate an electric field, the electric field being generated between the first and second electrodes. The first electrode is provided with a plurality of apertures within the pixel region.
Claims13
A liquid crystal device comprising:
- a pair of substrates with liquid crystal interposed therebetween;
- a first electrode formed between the liquid crystal and one of the pair of substrates;
- an insulating layer formed between the liquid crystal and the first electrode;
- and
- a plurality of second electrodes disposed between the liquid crystal and the insulating layer, each second electrode corresponding to a separate pixel region, an electric field being generated between the first electrode and the second electrodes, the first electrode including a plurality of apertures within each pixel region.
A liquid crystal device comprising:
- a pair of substrates with liquid crystal interposed therebetween;
- an insulating layer formed between the liquid crystal and one of the pair of substrates;
- a plurality of pixel electrodes disposed between the liquid crystal and the insulating layer, each pixel electrode corresponding to a separate pixel region, the pixel electrodes having a plurality of straight line shaped conductive sections that extend in a predetermined direction and that are disposed at a distance therebetween in a direction crossing the predetermined direction;
- and
- a common electrode formed between the liquid crystal and the insulating layer, the common electrode including a plurality of apertures within each pixel region, the apertures in the common electrode being provided at positions corresponding to the respective conductive sections in a staggered manner.
