An electro-optical device, comprising:

• a substrate having electrodes;
• and
• electro-luminescent layers provided in correspondence with the electrodes upon the substrate, wherein:
• each of a plurality of discharge apparatuses comprises a nozzle surface having at least one nozzle that discharges a liquid containing an electro-luminescent material;
• a holding apparatus holds and arranges the discharge apparatuses so that the nozzles are linearly-arranged along a first direction;
• and
• the discharge apparatuses discharge the liquid from predetermined nozzles to predetermined positions on the substrate so as to form the electro-luminescent layers, while relatively moving the discharge apparatuses and the substrate along the first direction, and while the nozzle surface of each of the discharge apparatuses is directed along the surface of the substrate.

An electro-optical device, comprising:

• a substrate;
• and
• a color filter formed upon the substrate, wherein:
• each of a plurality of discharge apparatuses comprises a nozzle surface having at least one nozzle that discharges a liquid containing a filter material of a predetermined color;
• a holding apparatus holds and arranges the discharge apparatuses so that the nozzles are linearly-arranged along a first direction;
• and
• the discharge apparatuses discharge the liquid from predetermined nozzles to predetermined positions on the substrate so as to form the color filter, while relatively moving the discharge apparatuses and the substrate along the first direction, and while the nozzle surface of each of the discharge apparatuses is facing a surface of the substrate with a gap therebetween.

A color filter, comprising:

• a substrate;
• and
• a filter formed on the substrate so as to present different colors, wherein:
• each of a plurality of discharge apparatuses comprises a nozzle surface having at least one nozzle that discharges a liquid containing a filter material of a predetermined color;
• a holding apparatus holds and arranges the discharge apparatuses so that the nozzles are linearly-arranged along a first direction;
• and
• the discharge apparatuses discharge the liquid from predetermined nozzles to predetermined positions on the substrate so as to form the filter, while relatively moving the discharge apparatuses and the substrate along the first direction, and while the nozzle surface of each of the discharge apparatuses is facing a surface of the substrate with a gap therebetween.

A discharge method, comprising:

• providing discharge apparatuses each comprising a nozzle surface that has at least one nozzle that discharges a liquid;
• holding the discharge apparatuses by a holding apparatus so that the nozzles are linearly-arranged along a first direction;
• and
• discharging the liquid from predetermined nozzles to predetermined positions on the object, while relatively moving the discharge apparatuses and the object along the first direction, and while the nozzle surface of each of the discharge apparatuses is facing a surface of the object with a gap therebetween.

A device, comprising:

• a base;
• and
• a layer formed on the base by discharging a liquid onto the base, wherein:
• each of a plurality of discharge apparatuses comprises a nozzle surface having at least one nozzle that discharges the liquid;
• a holding apparatus holds and arranges the discharge apparatuses so that the nozzles are linearly-arranged along a first direction;
• and
• the discharge apparatuses discharge the liquid from predetermined nozzles to predetermined positions on the base so as to form the layer, while relatively moving the discharge apparatuses and the base along the first direction, and while the nozzle surface of each of the discharge apparatuses is directed along the surface of the base.
