Novel surface layers for photoreceptors are provided. The surface layers are a polymeric composition including a resin and a cyclic polymer.

A photoconductive imaging member comprising a surface layer comprising at least one resin and at least one cyclic polymer.
A coating composition for a photoconductive imaging member comprising at least one resin and at least one cyclic polymer.
A method for improving the charge transport characteristics of a photoconductive imaging member comprising applying to the imaging member a surface layer comprising at least one resin selected from the group consisting of linear polycarbonates and polyarylates possessing a degree of polymerization of from about 50 to about 5,000, at least one cyclic polymer selected from the group consisting of cyclic poly(butylene terephthalate), cyclic poly(ethylene terephthalate), cyclic poly(bisphenol Z carbonate) and cyclic poly(bisphenol A carbonate) and at least one hole transport molecule.
