Abstract
A manually-operated sweeper, having a wheeled chassis with steering handlebar and a dirt collection container. The rear wheels actuate, by a first transmission, a first brush, a horizontal axis adapted to act on the surface that lies below the chassis, and, by a second transmission, a second brush, with vertical axis and supported by an arm protruding in front of the chassis. Proximate to the first brush, a fan is provided for aspirating fine dust toward a filter located inside a protective housing at an opening leading externally for the escape of the filtered air. The fan is turned by a transmission device actuated by the rear wheel motion.
Claims8
A manually-operated sweeper, comprising:
- a wheeled chassis;
- an arm which protrudes in front of the chassis;
- a steering handlebar connected to said chassis;
- a dirt collection container associated with said chassis;
- rear wheels that are rotatable about an axis thereof;
- a first and second transmissions;
- a first brush which has a horizontal axis parallel to the axis of the rear wheels and is adapted to act on a surface that lies below said chassis;
- a second brush which rotates about a vertical axis and is supported by said arm;
- the rear wheels being connected to said chassis so as to actuate, by virtue of their rotation, through said first transmission, said first brush, and, through said second transmission, said second brush;
- a protective housing with an externally leading opening for escape of filtered air;
- a filter located inside the protective housing at said opening;
- a fan mounted proximate to said first brush for aspirating fine dust raised by action of said first and second brushes toward said filter;
- and transmission means connected to said rear wheels, said fan being turned by way of said transmission means actuated by motion performed by at least one of said rear wheels.
