Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and circuit arrangement for determining power supply noise of a power distribution network. The power supply noise is determined by measuring the propagation delay of a delay circuit powered by the power distribution network, wherein the result of the measuring step is used as an indicator of the power supply noise. Thereby, a real-time power supply noise monitoring can be carried out at any point of a power distribution network of an observed circuitry.
Claims20
A circuit arrangement for determining power supply noise of a power distribution network, said circuit arrangement comprising:
- a delay circuit (10) connected to at least one supply line of said power distribution network;
- delay measuring means (20) for measuring a time delay between an input signal supplied to said delay circuit (10) and an output signal obtained at the output of said delay circuit (10) in response to said input signal;
- and
- output means for outputting a signal corresponding to said measured time delay.
A method of determining power supply noise of a power distribution network, said method comprising the steps of:
- measuring the propagation delay of a delay circuit (10) powered by said power distribution network;
- and
- using the result of said measuring steps as an indicator of said power supply noise.
