Abstract
A method and system for repairing a defect area in a surface of a joint include providing a mold having a first surface and a second surface, positioning the mold within the joint such that at least part of the mold first surface overlies the defect area, and depositing a repair material under the mold first surface within the defect area to create a repaired site within the joint.

A method for repairing a defect area in a surface of a joint, the method comprising:
- providing a mold having a first surface and a second surface;
- positioning the mold within the joint such that at least part of the mold first surface overlies the defect area;
- and
- depositing a repair material under the mold first surface within the defect area to create a repaired site within the joint.
A method for repairing a defect area in a surface of a joint, the method comprising:
- providing a semi-rigid mold having a first surface and a second surface;
- positioning the mold within the joint such that at least part of the mold first surface overlies the defect area;
- shaping the mold by contacting a healthy area of the joint surface with at least part of the mold first surface;
- and
- depositing a repair material under the mold first surface within the defect area to create a repaired site within the joint.
A method for repairing a defect area in a surface of a joint, the method comprising:
- providing a mold having a first surface and a second surface, wherein at least one the first mold surface is generally rigid;
- collapsing the mold for insertion into the joint;
- expanding the mold inside the joint;
- positioning the mold within the joint such that at least part of the mold first surface overlies the defect area;
- and
- depositing a repair material under the mold first surface within the defect area to create a repaired site within the joint.
A system for repairing a defect area in a surface of a joint, the method comprising:
- a mold having a first surface and a second surface, the mold arranged to be positioned within the joint such that at least part of the mold first surface overlies the defect area;
- and
- a repair material arranged to be deposited under the mold first surface within the defect area to create a repaired site within the joint.
A method for repairing defect areas in a first joint surface and a second joint surface of a joint, the method comprising:
- providing a mold having an inner surface and an outer surface;
- positioning the mold within the joint such that at least part of the mold inner surface overlies a defect area in the first joint surface;
- depositing a repair material under the mold inner surface within the defect area to create a restored first joint surface;
- using the restored first joint surface to assist in shaping a mold for repairing a defect area in the second joint surface.
