A storage medium using an organic dye material, wherein a degree of modulation of a lead-in pre-pit portion is 0.2 or more.
A recording method for recording information in a storage medium using an organic dye material, comprising:
- recording information in a lead-in area and a groove area with a recording beam of a beam intensity profile having a half-width value be 280 mm or less such that a degree of modulation of a lead-in pre-pit portion is 0.2 or more.
A reproducing method for reproducing information from a storage medium using an organic dye material in which information is recorded in a lead-in area and a groove area with a recording beam of a beam intensity profile having a half-width value be 280 mm or less such that a degree of modulation of a lead-in pre-pit portion is 0.2 or more, the method comprising:
- irradiating the storage medium with a laser light, thereby reproducing the information.
