Abstract
Nanoparticles which contain noble metals alone or noble metals in combination with base metals. The nanoparticles are embedded in an aqueous solution of a temporary stabilizer based on a polysaccharide.
Claims11
1-23. (canceled)
A process for the catalytic coating of a substrate material which comprises the steps of:
- a) preparing an aqueous noble metal nanoparticle solution comprising noble metal nanoparticles embedded in an aqueous solution of a temporary stabilizer which is a polysaccharide;
- b) applying said aqueous noble metal nanoparticle solution to the substrate material, and
- c) removing the temporary stabilizer.
The process according to claim 1, wherein the temporary stabilizer is removed by breaking the glycosidic bonds in the presence of an alkali.
The process according to claim 1, wherein the temporary stabilizer is removed by pyrolysis at temperatures up to 250° C.
The process according to claim 1 further comprising a washing step.
The process according to claim 1, wherein the aqueous noble metal nanoparticle solution is applied to the substrate material by a spray process, by a brushing process, by a immersing process, by an impregnating process or by a screen printing process.
