Abstract
Described are nanoparticulate docetaxel or analogue thereof compositions. The compositions, which comprise a nanoparticulate docetaxel or analogue thereof and at least one surface stabilizer, can be used in the treatment of cancer.
Claims30
A composition comprising:
- (a) particles of docetaxel or an analogue thereof having an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm;
- and
- (b) at least one surface stabilizer.
A method of treating a cancer comprising administering to a mammal an effective amount of a composition comprising:
- (a) particles of a docetaxel or analogue thereof having an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm;
- and
- (b) at least one surface stabilizer.
A method of making a nanoparticulate docetaxel or analogue thereof composition comprising contacting particles of docetaxel or an analogue thereof with at least one surface stabilizer for a time and under conditions sufficient to provide a docetaxel or analogue thereof composition having an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm.
