Abstract
A system and method are provided for performing Local Centre Authorization Service (LCAS) in a network system, the system having a data aligner configured to align bytes of input data according to groups of members. The system also including an LCAS control manager configured to generate de-sequencing control commands in response to data input from the data aligner. The system further including a de-sequencer configured to de-sequence the input data input from the data aligner according to de-sequencing control commands received from the LCAS control manager.

A system for performing Local Centre Authorization Service (LCAS) in a network system, the system comprising:
- a data aligner configured to align bytes of input data according to groups of members;
- an LCAS control manager configured to generate de-sequencing control commands in response to data input from the data aligner;
- a de-sequencer configured to de-sequence the input data input from the data aligner according to de-sequencing control commands received from the LCAS control manager.
A system for performing Local Centre Authorization Service (LCAS) comprising:
- a data aligner configured to align bytes of input data, the aligner having:
- a write manager configured to receive input data into a first memory;
- a second memory configured to store input data received from the write manager hat writes the input data into a second memory;
- a read manager configured to read input data stored in the second memory into a third memory in an aligned manner;
- an LCAS control manager configured to generate de-sequencing control commands in response to input from the read manager;
- a de-sequencer configured to de-sequence the input data according to de-sequencing control commands received from the LCAS control manager.
A method of performing LCAS operations comprising:
- receiving member data from a plurality of members of a group;
- assigning an LPID to each member;
- writing member data to a memory location;
- reading member data to another memory location;
- and
- de-sequencing the member data.
A system for breaking an LCAS transaction down into a sequence of atomic operations, where hardware is configured to carry out each atomic operation, and where software is responsible for issuing the appropriate atomic operations for each transaction, comprising:
- a shadow copy module configured to maintain shadow copies of forward and reverse control information configurations;
- wherein, when an atomic operation is started, new control information is written into a shadow copy;
- and wherein, when all writing has been completed, a per-VCG configuration bit is toggled to force all members of that VCG to switch configuration memory data to force all the changes within an atomic operation to be executed in hardware at the same time.
A method of aligning, comprising:
- processing frames for each member of the VCG in the Write and Read Manager to be stored in, or retrieved from, the external memory. The Write Manager has one FIFO for each channel. A free running calendar periodically transfers the content of the FIFO to the RAM. Similarly the Read Manager has one FIFO for each channel. A free running calendar examines the content of the FIFOs, and initiates a read request if the FIFO content is lower than a fixed threshold.
A system for processing
- a sequencing module configured to reorder data bytes according to a predetermined transmission slot order of member channels of a VCG and to process dynamic VCG membership changes;
- at least two buffers that uses double buffering to perform VCG membership changes to support LCAS;
- and
- a read manager configured to read membership change data from one buffer and a write manager configured to write membership change data to another buffer, wherein the write and read functions of the read and write managers alternate between the two buffers.
